Indian-origin astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presented him with the mission patch of Axiom-4, a private space mission he is part of.
The meeting highlighted India’s growing presence in global space exploration and the contribution of Indian talent to international space programs. PM Modi appreciated Shukla’s gesture and lauded the efforts of young Indians making their mark in space research and technology.
The Axiom-4 mission, organized by US-based Axiom Space, aims to further private spaceflight initiatives and strengthen global collaboration in the field.
Shukla returned to India on Sunday. Along with three other astronauts -- Peggy Whitson (US), Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski (Poland), and Tibor Kapu (Hungary) -- Shukla conducted over 60 experiments and 20 outreach sessions during the 18-day mission.
