Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bhopal ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
After joining the BJP, Suresh Pachouri said that earlier, Congress wanted to create a classless society, but now this has been completely sidelined by the Party.
Along with Suresh Pachouri, former Dhar MP and State Congress Vice President Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi, former MLA from Indore Sanjay Shukla, other former MLAs Vishal Patel and Arjun Palia and former Bhopal Congress District President Kailash Mishra also joined the BJP.
These leaders leaving the party before the Lok Sabha elections is being considered a big blow for the Congress. Suresh Pachori is counted among the senior and well-established leaders of Congress.
On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, State President V.D. Sharma and other BJP leaders were present in the programme organised at the State BJP office in Bhopal.
