Polling underway for 186 village panchayats in Goa
More than 5,000 candidates are in the fray for 1,464 wards across the state
Polling is underway for 186 panchayat bodies in Goa. The polling, which began at 8 am, will conclude at 5 pm.
More than 5,000 candidates are in the fray for 1,464 wards across the state.
A total of 64 candidates have been elected unopposed from different village panchayats, of which 41 were from North Goa and 23 from South Goa.
North Goa district has 97 panchayats, while South Goa has 89 panchayats.
The administration has imposed section 144 across the state. Liquor ban has also been imposed for today.
