Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a day-long visit to Karnataka and Maharashtra today. Prime Minister will be visiting Karnataka today to dedicate to the nation a modernised Narayanpur Left Bank Canal in Yadgir district in the north of the state.

The Left bank canal after Narayanapura reservoir on Krishna river is modernised to improve water use efficiency, reduce water loss in the command area and deliver water to the tail end users. 

 The project was taken up with the financial assistance of the State and Central Governments. 

Thereafter the Prime Minister will address a huge public rally at Malakhera, in Sedam taluk of Kalburgi district. During the occasion the Banjara and Lambani tandas will be declared as revenue villages. 

He will be handing over possession certificates of houses for these nomadic communities.

A record 51,900 habitants will receive the Possession certificate for the houses they live in.

AIR correspondent reports that after arriving to Kalburgi today morning the Prime Minister will reach Yadgiri by helicopter to inaugurate Narayanpur Left Bank canal. 

He will be switching on the automation System. It has Supervisory control and data acquisition, that is SCADA based automation from the Dam to the farmer delivery outlets. 

It is supported by robust communication system and Geographic Information System based irrigation Network Management Information System. 

It has water allocation and irrigation scheduling and vandalism proof internet of things based integrated gates comprising of gate actuator, socal power system, level and flow control, wireless communication, security cage and robust design catering to Indian conditions. 

For the first time in the history of canal irrigation projects, the tail end users will receive water for irrigation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Mumbai later today. During his visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around 38,800 crore rupees. 

Providing seamless urban mobility has been one of the key focus areas of the Prime Minister. In line with this, he will dedicate to the nation Mumbai Metro Rail Lines 2A and 7, worth around 12,600 crore rupees.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of seven sewage treatment plants, which will be built at a cost of around Rs 17,200 crores. 

Sources reports these sewage treatment plants will be set up in Malad, Bhandup, Versova, Ghatkopar, Bandra, Dharavi and Worli with a combind capacity of around 2,460 millions of liter per day(MLD).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch Mumbai one mobile app and National Common Mobility Card which will be initially used in metro corridors and can be extended to other modes of mass public transit including local trains and buses as well. 

Commuters will not need to carry multiple cards or cash; the NCMC card will enable quick, contactless, digital transactions, thereby easing the process with a seamless experience.

In an effort to strengthen the health care infrastructure in Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 20 Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Dawakhana, meaning "OUR DISPENSARY".

This novel initiative provides essential medical services like health checkups, medicines, investigations and diagnostics completely free, to the people.

The Prime Minister will start the road concretisation project for around 400 Km roads of Mumbai. 

This project will be developed at a cost of about Rs 6,100 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. 

The redevelopment is planned with a view to decongest the southern heritage node of the terminus, augmentation of facilities, better multi-modal integration and to conserve and restore the world famous iconic structure to its past glory.
