Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Kothipura in Bilaspur district.
Spread over an area of about 247 acres, this 1,471 crore rupees 750-bedded premier medical institute will provide super specialty medical treatment to the people of the region.
PM Modi also inaugurated 140 crore Government Hydro Engineering College at Bandla in Bilaspur.
The PM also laid foundation stones of 350 crore Medical Devices Park to be set up at Nalagarh and Pinjore-Nalagarh four-lane road project to be constructed under the Bharat Mala project with a cost of 1,692 crore rupees.
Addressing the public rally at Luhnu ground of Bilaspur town, Mr. Modi said Himachal Pradesh is a land of opportunity.
He said Himachal Pradesh has immense potential for medical tourism and the state will become a hub of health and tourism for the country.
Mr. Modi said that double-engine governments of the BJP at the Centre and the state have ensured the development of Himachal Pradesh.
He said that the development of the state has happened because of the people who chose good leaders and sent them forward, which is why there was no hindrance in the development.
PM also participated in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations at the Dhalpur Ground of Kullu. Mr. Modi walked to the main attraction with lakhs of other devotees and paid his tributes to Bhagwan Raghunath.
The Prime Minister greeted everyone present on the occasion with folded hands and witnessed the divine Rath Yatra along with the grand assembly of the deities in the historic Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
This was the first time ever that the Prime Minister of India had participated in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
