As the nation welcomed the beginning of Shardiya Navratri 2025 on September 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes to the people, linking the festival’s spiritual essence with a message of strength, faith, and determination.

He noted that the first day of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Shailputri, holds special significance, expressing hope that the Goddess’s blessings bring health, prosperity, and good fortune into people’s lives.

Marking the occasion, the Prime Minister also celebrated the devotional and cultural spirit of Navratri by sharing a bhajan sung by the legendary vocalist Pandit Jasraj. He encouraged citizens to share their own musical offerings, highlighting how music has always been a powerful medium to express faith and devotion.

This year’s Navratri is particularly significant as it coincides with the launch of GST 2.0, a major reform designed to simplify India’s indirect tax structure and lower costs on hundreds of goods and services. PM Modi connected the spiritual and economic aspects, describing this period as an opportunity to reinforce the spirit of Swadeshi and collective resolve towards building a self-reliant India.

Other leaders also joined in extending greetings. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wished that the festival brings strength, devotion, and prosperity, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prayed for happiness, health, and well-being for all devotees as they observe the nine-day celebration of Goddess Durga.
