French President Emmanuel Macron was the Chief Guest as India showcased its cultural diversity and military prowess.

Based on the twin themes of 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra Ki Matruka', this year's parade saw the participation of 13,000 special guests.

For the first time, the parade was heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments like the shankh, naadswaram, and nagada.

It was the first time an all-women tri-service contingent marched down Kartavya Path. Women pilots also enthralled the audience during the fly past, representing 'Nari Shakti', or 'women power'.

The contingents of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) also consisted of only women personnel.

The Republic Day parade started at 10.30 am and ran for a duration of 120 minutes.

Kartavya Path witnessed a march past by a combined band and marching contingent of the French armed forces.

The 30-member band contingent was headed by Captain Khourda, which was followed by a 90-member marching contingent, led by Captain Noel

A multirole tanker aircraft and two Rafale fighter jets of the French Air and Space Force flew above the contingents.
