More than 54 crore 38 lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 73 lakh 50 thousand vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported 36 thousand 83 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The country's active caseload is currently at three lakh 85 thousand and 336. The active cases constitute 1.20 per cent of the total reported cases so far. The Ministry said, a total of 39 thousand 927 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 13 lakh 76 thousand. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.46 per cent.
The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate in the country remains below five per cent and is currently at 2 per cent. Daily positivity rate stands at 1.88 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 20 days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and 49.36 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday, more than 19 lakh 23 thousand tests for COVID -19 were conducted.
