Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stressed that India should encourage dry fruit production.
Addressing the gathering on the inauguration of Dry Fruits and Nuts Exhibition and Trade Conference “Meva India 2024” at Yashobhoomi Convention Center in Delhi on Friday, the Lok Sabha Speaker said India can be at the forefront of this industry through relentless efforts and technological innovations.
He stressed that the dry fruits and nuts industry in India was not a stand-alone industry, but a major income and employment multiplier.
Noting that around 3,000 participants from 20 countries and many states of India were participating in the event, Om Birla felt that it was a great initiative to showcase the industry.
Highlighting India's rich history as a renowned spice producer with a global reputation for high quality, Om Birla emphasized the nation's dominant position in the global market and trade.
