Lok Sabha has resumed the discussion on election reforms. Participating in the discussion, Congress leader K C Venugopal said, the right to vote is a fundamental principle of democracy. He alleged that the Election Commission is becoming partisan.

Lok Sabha has resumed the discussion on election reforms. Participating in the discussion, Congress leader K C Venugopal said, the right to vote is a fundamental principle of democracy. He alleged that the Election Commission is becoming partisan. 
 
K C Venugopal also alleged that just before the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the accounts of the Congress party were frozen, citing a delay in filing income tax returns. He also spoke about the large-scale deletion of voters in Bihar.
 
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, whenever the Opposition loses, they raise questions about the electoral process.
He said, even after so many rallies in Bihar by Congress and criticising the SIR, it only managed to win just a few seats in the Assembly polls. 
 
Ravi Shankar Prasad said, there is a need for introspection for the Congress party and their allies and they should not point to the Election Commission.
 
Shatabdi Roy of Trinamool Congress alleged that SIR is being conducted to harass people and it is politically motivated.
 
She also alleged that BLOs are losing their lives due to the exercise in West Bengal.
Shatabdi Roy said, if Bangladeshis and Rohingyas are entering India, then it is the failure of the Government.   
 
Dimple Yadav of Samajwadi Party said, that the Election Commission should be impartial.
She alleged the Poll Body is working on the behest of the Government. Manish Tewari of Congress had initiated the discussion in the lower House yesterday.
