After communal clashes were reported in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, resulting in stone pelting, internet was suspended and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot called for peace.

"It is unfortunate that tension has arisen due to the clash between two groups at Jalori Gate, Jodhpur. The administration has been instructed to maintain peace and order at all costs," he tweeted.

Communal tension broke out in Jalori Gate area, which led to stone pelting, leaving at least four policemen injured in the early hours of Tuesday.

The police lobbed tear gas shells to control the situation hours before Eid in the hometown of Gehlot.

The two sides clashed with each other over installing a religious flag in connection with Eid, police said.
