President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards during a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Swachh Survekshan, now in its ninth edition, evaluated over 4,500 cities across India. The survey followed a smart, structured framework based on 10 parameters and 54 indicators, focusing on sanitation, waste management, and overall urban service delivery.
According to the ministry, the mission aims to foster mass citizen participation and raise awareness across all sections of society about the collective responsibility in keeping cities clean and livable.
