The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare revealed on Wednesday morning (November 3, 2021) that India had reported 11,903 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's active count to the lowest in 252 days.
Active infections now account for fewer than 1% of all cases, with 1,51,209 active infections.
In the last 24 hours, India has had 14,159 coronavirus recoveries and 311 deaths. So far, the country has seen nearly 3.69 crore recoveries and 4,59,191 fatalities.
According to provisional reports as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday, India's vaccination coverage had reached 107.29 crores after the delivery of 41,16,230 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours. More than 14.68 crore balance and unutilized vaccination doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered, according to the Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will convene a virtual review meeting with districts with low COVID-19 immunisation coverage. Districts having less than 50% coverage of the first dose and low coverage of the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination will attend the meeting.
It's worth noting that the first dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine has been provided to over 78 percent of India's eligible population, with roughly 38 percent receiving both shots.
