India witnessing transformative change, setting new benchmarks in governance & innovation: PM Modi

Modi said holistic development means clean water to every household, quality education to every child, financial access to every entrepreneur and benefits of the digital economy to every village.

He stated this while addressing Civil Servants on the occasion of the 17th Civil Services Day in New Delhi. He said the real progress is not about small changes, but about large-scale and meaningful impact.

He underlined the need for extraordinary speed to fulfil the aspirations of youth, farmers and women in the country, saying their dreams are soaring to unprecedented heights.

PM Modi added that India is setting new benchmarks in governance, transparency and innovation. He noted that India has undergone transformative changes in the past decade and the country is no longer just focused on growth, but is setting new benchmarks in governance, transparency, and innovation.

Talking about the aspirational districts programme, the Prime Minister said that through this initiative, unprecedented changes are being witnessed in key indicators of health, social development and basic infrastructure in different parts of the country.

He stated that the quality of governance is determined by how deeply schemes reach the people and their real impact on the ground. The policies being framed and decisions being made today by the government are going to shape the future for the next thousand years.

He also highlighted that in the age of technology, governance is not about managing systems; it is about multiplying possibilities.

In his speech, PM Modi emphasised the need to keep a close eye on global challenges in this rapidly changing time. He said food, water and energy security remain a big challenge, particularly for the global south.

On the occasion, PM Modi conferred the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration in the categories of Holistic Development of Districts, Aspirational Blocks Programme, and Innovation to civil servants. He also released two eBooks during the event
