India to assume UNSC Presidency today
I&B Minister Anurag Thakur hails it momentous as India marks its 75th Independence Day
India will assume the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council today. In a message to the international community on the eve of the momentous occasion, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Tirumurti highlighted the significance of the responsibility to India and what India will strive to bring to the Global High Table.
Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur today expressed happiness as India takes over the Presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of August. Mr Thakur said, India's Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) begins in August, the country's Independence Day month. He said, it is momentous as India is set to mark its 75th Independence Day.
