On Sunday, the Congress' Madhya Pradesh branch launched the first phase of its two-week 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' campaign, in which party officials and volunteers will travel to rural areas of the state to highlight growing inflation and criticise the BJP government at the centre.

"From November 14 to 29, Congress workers and leaders will march through villages and towns, speaking to people on the BJP`s policies that resulted high inflation in the country," said a state Congress spokesperson.

They will clean Dalit homes, distribute brochures about rising prices, and spend the night in rural regions during their visit.

Digvijaya Singh, a veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister, will visit the districts of Mandla, Datiya, Panna, and Guna as part of the campaign.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has also established a control room to ensure that the campaign runs smoothly.

P.C. Sharma, a senior party leader and MLA, would be in charge of the control room.

Digvijaya Singh, criticising the BJP's policies at the federal and state levels, said the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has seen the party has made decisions and implemented policies that have harmed the Indian economy.

"The BJP government's policies have resulted in high inflation, widespread unemployment and economic recession. We will also tell the people about the mismanagement of the Covid pandemic by the BJP government."

He claimed that the Congress has long spoken out against these concerns and that it has now chosen to reach out to the public through the 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan.'
