On Saturday, two different confrontations in Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the deaths of four militants. One of the gunfights occurred in Shopian, while the other occurred in Pulwama district.

The terrorists killed in Shopian belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), according to Jammu and Kashmir Police, while those killed in Pulwama have yet to be identified.

Sajad Ahmad Chak, a resident of Braripora, Shopian, and Raja Basit Yaqoob, a resident of Achan Litter in Pulwama, have been identified as the two LeT terrorists.

"According to police records, both the terrorists were linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT and were part of groups involved in several terror cases. Chak was also instrumental in motivating and recruiting the youth in the terrorist group," said a police official.

Incriminating materials, as well as weaponry and ammunition, including two AK series rifles, four AK magazines, and 32 rounds, were recovered from the two terrorists, according to the police.

The second clash took place in Hardumir, in the Tral district of Pulwama. The gunfight resulted in the deaths of two unnamed extremists. According to authorities, they were being identified and their group connection was being determined.

On Friday, security forces in Kashmir's Anantnag region killed a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who was implicated in the killings of a police officer, civilians, and others.

Two more people were apprehended in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, who were LeT terrorists' associates.
