The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party announced 34 candidates for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections on Thursday (January 20, 2022).

Notably absent from the list is Utpal Parrikar, the son of late Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, will run for Sanquelim, while Manohar Ajgaonkar, the Deputy Chief Minister, will run for Margaon.

The ticket was handed to a sitting MLA from Panjim, while other options were offered to Utpal Parrikar, son of late former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, but he declined the first. He continues to converse with him. Devendra Fandvais stated, "We believe he should agree."

Devendra Fadnavis, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister, stated this in a news conference today. The assembly elections in Goa will be held on February 14. The results of the election will be announced on March 10.
