In Kerala, the third Framework Working Group Meeting under India's G20 Presidency gets underway in Kochi today.
More than 75 delegates from G-20 member countries, invitee countries and various international and regional organisations are participating in the two-day event.
The Chief Economic Advisor to the Union Ministry of Finance Dr V Anantha Nageswaran and the UK's Deputy Director of Treasury, Tom Hemingway will jointly chair the meeting.
The Framework Working Group meeting will deliberate on the current global economic outlook, macroeconomic implications of food and energy insecurity and also on the macroeconomic impact of climate change and transition pathways.
The aim of the meeting is to develop a shared understanding of the policy experiences of member countries and also to attempt to explore areas where global cooperation can help support the domestic efforts of countries.
A panel discussion on Financial Globalisation -- Opportunities and Risks will be held on the sidelines of the Working Group meeting.
