At least ten people lost their lives and several others were injured after a powerful explosion ripped through parked vehicles near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. The blast triggered panic across the national capital, prompting authorities in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai to issue a high alert.

According to reports, Delhi Police have detained one suspect for questioning in connection with the incident. The injured have been admitted to LNJP Hospital for treatment.

Officials from the Delhi Fire Department said they received calls about loud blast-like sounds, following which multiple vehicles caught fire. The explosion reportedly set at least three nearby cars ablaze.

Seven fire tenders were rushed to the scene, and senior police officers are currently overseeing the situation. The densely populated Old Delhi area around the Red Fort remains cordoned off as investigations continue.

While some reports and social media posts have suggested a possible terror link, there has been no official confirmation so far.
