The pilgrimage has been temporarily suspended due to safety concerns amid inclement weather.

According to officials, the landslide occurred at Z-mode, near Upper Railpathri, sweeping multiple pilgrims downhill along the Baltal axis en route to the holy cave.

The injured were immediately shifted to the Baltal base camp hospital. One of the victims, identified as Sona Bhai, wife of Dara Ram and a resident of Rajasthan, was declared dead upon arrival.

In light of the incident and the ongoing heavy rainfall in the region, authorities have suspended the movement of fresh batches of pilgrims from Jammu toward the holy cave for the day.

Further updates on the resumption of the Yatra are expected depending on weather conditions and route clearance.
