India's total COVID Vaccination Coverage has achieved a landmark milestone of 45 crore yesterday. The Union Health Ministry has said that more than 35 crore vaccine doses were administered as first dose and nine crore 80 lakh vaccine doses given as second dose so far.
The Ministry said, nearly 40 lakh vaccine doses have been administered yesterday. Overall, 14 crore 66 lakh persons in the age group 18 to 44 years across 37 States and UTs have received their first dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.
Five States - Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18 to 44 years.
The Ministry said, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
