In present scenario information technology is a very important tool if carefully used. However it’s misuse has led to a phenomenal increase in various types of crime. To control this, under the Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Micro Mission Project-08 of the Government of India, State Police has been notified by the Home Department of the Government of Gujarat to operate Cyber ​​Crime Police Stations in all the Commissionerates and Ranges of the State.

Regarding this, the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station in Vadodara Range was inaugurated today by Range IG Abhay Chudasama for the purpose of prevention of cyber crime crimes in Vadodara city and district.

Vadodara Range Cyber ​​Crime Police Station consists of Vadodara Rural Division (Vadodara Rural and Dabhoi Division), Chhotaudepur Division, Bharuch Division (Bharuch, Ankleshwar and Jambusar Division) and Narmada Division (Rajpipla and Kevadia Division).

Inaugurating the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station, Range IG Abhay Chudasama said, various crimes are being committed in cyber crime through online fraud as well as through social media. Also the rate of cyber crime is increasing in Vadodara and to bring it under control, the government has designated nine ranges in the state as cyber crime police stations, in which Vadodara Range Cyber ​​Crime has been created. Under this four police stations have been included which inculdes Vadodara rural, Bharuch, Chhota Udepur and Narmada districts.

Range IG Abhay Chudasama further said that all the cyber related crimes will be investigated, culprits will be caught and monitoring of Social media will ne done through this police station. In addition a special room has been set up for women and women police staff have been included so that women can easily lodge complaints. A handbook has been prepared to help cyber crime police staff to easily solve any cyber crime.

Police Inspector R. R. Brahmbhat said that PN Patel and DB Wala if first police inspectors of cyber crime police station, followed by MB Thakkar as wireless police inspector. Three unarm and 4 wireless police sub-inspectors as well as 11 head constables and 23 constables which includes 13 women have been appointed. The polive station is having Police Station, Police Sub Inspector Room, Forensic Room, Data Analysis Room, Investigation Room and Women’s Room.

PI Brahmbhat further said that, considering the pattern of crimes recorded in the state in present circumstances, a total of 37 types of cyber crimes are committed. IT field police graduates have been allotted to the police station to control such crimes. A total of 3 lakh worth devices is allotted to this police station by the Home Department.

Range IG Abhay Chudasma, Bharuch SP Rajendra Chudasma, Vadodara Rural SP Sudhir Desai, Narmada SP Himkar Singh and Chhota Udepur SP Bhabhor and other police staff were present at the inauguration ceremony.
