With view to promote the newly launched 'Bharat Gaurav Trains' (Theme - based Tourist Circuit trains), Western Railway organised a meeting with stakeholders from Travel and Tourism Industry, including IRCTC. The meeting which was chaired by Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) alongwith the Nodal Committee members was held on 10th December, 2021 at Western Railway HQs, Churchgate.
Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway had chaired a workshop recently on this subject and had directed the concerned nodal officials to convene a meeting with the stakeholders to promote the concept.
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the meeting was attended by quite a few interested parties such as M/s. Kulinkumar Holidays, M/s. Multilink & M/s. Travel Mart India, IRCTC officials. At the outset of the meeting, they were apprised of the advantages of the scheme and the various potential Tourists Circuits over WR.
A detailed power point presentation highlighting the terms and conditions of the Bharat Gaurav Train policy was given. It enumerated the salient features of the scheme, including the fact that the tour operators shall have the flexibility to decide the theme, tour packages & cost as well as shall also have the liberty to offer all-inclusive tour packages to the tourists including Rail travel, Hotel accommodation, Sight-seeing etc. The scope for Branding of the Bharat Gaurav Trains and third party commercial publicity was also informed. The stakeholders briefly explained their Business Model Plan on Bharat Gaurav Train concept and their queries were also addressed by the Nodal Team. The details of the Customer Support Unit were also shared with the participants for any further queries.
Thakur further stated that, the 'Bharat Gaurav Trains' is a concept launched by Ministry of Railways for the first time to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places to the people of India and the world. These trains will run in various tourist circuits thereby providing glimpses of India's rich cultural heritage, historical and religious sites to the passengers.
