While bathing in the river Narmada on the banks of Malharrao Ghat in pilgrimage Chandod near Vadodara, a middle-aged man from Ahmedabad, who was drowning in the sudden flow of water, was rescued by the women members of the Gram Rakshak Dal present on duty at the ghat. He thanked the women of GRD for saving his life.

As per details, many devotees come to Chandod for the rituals and bathing throughout the year due to the greatness of Dakshin Prayag Tirth Kshetra. On Friday evening, a middle-aged Kamlesh Chandrakantbhai Shah a resident of Haveli Ni Pol, Khadia area of ​​Ahmedabad visited Chandod for bath and reached the famous Malharrao Ghat on the river Narmada. Meanwhile, due to the clay in the steps, he suddenly slipped and he began to drown in the flow of water.

He shouted for help and Women members of GRD present on duty including Meena Tadvi, Sumitra Baria and other women members ran for help and without thinking for a moment, jumped into the flowing water, put the rescue ring and pulled the middle-aged man to the shore and saved his life.
