Western Railway GM inspection of Vadodara division

Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway inspected Divisional Railway Hospital Pratapnagar, MEMU Car Shed and Electric Loco Shed at Vadodara on 3rd August, 2021. Shri Kansal also visited the Plasser Track Machine Factory located at Lakodra.

According to Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Kansal inaugurated PSA based oxygen generator plant at Divisional Railway Hospital, Pratapnagar. The PSA oxygen generator has a capacity of 250 liters LMO per minute. With the supply of medical oxygen of 93% purity, this plant will prove to be life-saving especially during emergencies. The plant will ensure self-sufficiency of medical oxygen to the indoor patients. GM directed to increase the no. of beds with piped oxygen from 20 to 70.

Thakur further stated that, during the inspection of Electric Loco Shed - Vadodara, Kansal discussed various technical aspects in detail with the officers present and emphasized on expediting the various infrastructural related work. Shri Kansal inaugurated the working model of 3 Phase Electric Loco at Zonal Electric Training Center, as well as the meeting room in the Electric Loco Shed.

GM interacted with the workers at shed floor for the professional & personal well-being. He directed the Team to bring down the failure rate to zero. A no. of good innovations & good work done were demonstrated by the various supervisors incharge of the shed. He inspected the MEMU car shed and inaugurated the newly constructed garden "Swabhiman Vatika" and Centralized Air Compressor. He also planted saplings at the garden. Kansal directed the team to maintain the Green lungs of the shed.

Later, GM Kansal held a review meeting with DRM Amit Gupta and Senior Railway Officers and officials of National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited regarding expediting the ongoing works and completing them within the target. He said that completion of the work in time would benefit the common man. He emphasized on adhering to all guidelines and not compromise on Safety while carrying out the work. Officers should also make sincere efforts to meet the stiff targets for revenues & saving of expenditure. He exhorted the team to work by exception & carry out the system improvements. He also interacted with the representatives of recognized unions.
