Three teams from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation's health department raided the Sharda Gruh Udyog and the Hathikhana market selling turmeric, chilli and coriander powder at cheaper than the market price. During the raid, the team recovered 2818 kgs of turmeric and chillies worth a total of Rs 3.75 lakh from Sharda Gruh Udyog and 40.500 kgs of chilli, turmeric and coriander from the Hathikhana market worth 8040 rupees. The team collected the samples of chilli, turmeric and coriander and sent for laboratory for analysis.

During a survey by Food Safety Gandhinagar and Food Branch, it was noticed that chilli and turmeric powder were being sold cheaper then market price. Based on that a search operation was conducted at the housing industry godown for the last six days. Meanwhile, the raid was going on from noon to late night yesterday.

A team from the health department had conducted a search operation for the last six days at the Sharda Gruh udyog godown run by trader Shahnad Hussain Ahmed Khan Pathan at Hujrat Tekra, behind the Bhutdizampa bus depot. Meanwhile, the raid was going on from noon to late night yesterday.

During the raid, the health team recovered 898 kg of red chili powder worth Rs 1,25,750 lakh from the godown, 158 kg of coriander powder worth Rs 20,540, 688 kg of chaman chilli powder worth Rs 89,440 and 896 kg of chilli powder worth 1,16,80, kg of chilli powder. Price of 896 kg, 178 kg of Salem turmeric worth Rs. 23,140. Total 3,75,320 worth items were seized by the teams.

Simultaneously 3 teams from the health branch raided two shopkeepers selling inside Hathikhana market, and also Ramesh Ashuda, who owns a shop called Varun Traders in Hathikhana Bazaar. A quantity of 75 kg items worth Rs. 5040 was found and five kgs of Kumthi chilli powder worth 1500. They also raid at Madhuvan traders run by Hiranand Motwani and seized 28 kgs of Hot Teja Chilli powder worth 5040 rupees. While the manufacturing unit of Sharda housing industry is at Mandu Sir in Madhya Pradesh, the investigation is also been done in that direction.
