In a significant makeover, Ahmedabad’s iconic Vastrapur Lake has been redeveloped at a cost of over ₹10 crore. The upgrade, which falls under the Bodakdev ward, includes extensive beautification and infrastructure improvements, aimed at enhancing the overall visitor experience. The lake is now ready to reopen to the public, with the revamped facilities offering a fresh, modern appeal.
Entry Fee to Be Charged from January 1, 2026
Starting January 1, 2026, an entry fee of ₹10 will be applicable for visitors. However, the lake will remain free for entry during the early morning hours, between 6:00 am and 10:00 am. The lake will be temporarily closed for maintenance between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, but will remain accessible again from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily.
Enhanced Facilities and New Features
The redevelopment project, executed by contractor Umiya Vijay Infra, includes several exciting new additions. Key highlights of the makeover include:
- Newly constructed Narsinh Mehta Gate, Kalyan Pushti Gate, and Shaheed Chowk Gate.
- Three state-of-the-art fountains added to enhance the aesthetic appeal.
- An upper walkway and lower walkway that provide scenic views around the lake.
- The addition of three new gazebos, strategically located between the walkways, offering a perfect spot for relaxation and views of the water.
With these upgrades, Vastrapur Lake is set to become a key attraction for both locals and tourists, offering a modern recreational space for all ages.

- Free Entry: 6:00 am to 10:00 am daily
- Entry Fee: ₹10 (from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm)
- Closed for Maintenance: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm daily
