Husband killed wife and daughter after mixing rat poison in the ice cream and later chocked them to ensure both died. Police said frequent quarrels and anger towards wife is the main reason and the accused also accepted to be in one sided love with a girl at his work place. Police also found that he searched Google and YouTube platforms about rat poison and also the effect on humans. Police is further investigating in the case.
Shobhana Tejasbhai Patel living in Chandanpark Society on New Sama Road in the city and her 6-year-old daughter Kavya came home after playing garba on Sunday and went to sleep. However after sometime their health deteriorated and both were taken to a private hospital for treatment, where a doctor declared them dead. Following the suspicious death of the mother and daughter, the Sama police rushed to the spot and started investigation and the bodies of the two were sent to Sayaji Hospital for postmortem.
A panel postmortem was conducted by the police to determine the exact cause of the mysterious death of the mother-daughter as there were traces of injuries on the woman's neck. The postmortem report revealed that Tejas Patel had poisoned his wife Shobhana and daughter Kavya after strangling them. Following that police interrogated the husband and he accepted of killing his wife and daughter.
"The accused accepted of killing his wife and daughter as fallout of frequent quarrels between them. He also accepted to be in one sided love with someone at his workplace. He mixed rat poison in the ice cream and offered them when both reached home after playing garba. Later he strangulate both of them and after ensuring informed his brother in law. During investigation we found google and YouTube search history of the accused where he searched for rat poison and effects on human.
