Vadodara: New app to ease life of visually impaired

A mobile app developed by a teacher of M S University will help the visually impaired go for shopping or exchange currency notes without the fear of getting cheated or duped.
Vishwas Raval, an assistant professor at department of computer science and engineering at MSU's Faculty of Technology and Engineering, has developed the app Drushti that will be available at zero cost to the visually impaired.
The app provides users the choice to select their regional language. "This app helps in recognising Indian currency, detects surrounding objects like tables, chairs, television that are used in their daily life and also in colour identification, if they go for shopping," he said.
The app also has an SOS feature.
