Minister of State for Narmada Development Shri Yogesh Patel discussed with Mayor of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, MLAs, Municipal Commissioner and City Police Commissioner, District Collector and District Superintendent of Police about the peaceful immersion of Ganeshotsav in a peaceful and cordial atmosphere.

Referring to the tradition of celebrating Ganesh Utsav with great enthusiasm in Vadodara, Minister of State for Narmada Development Yogesh Patel said that due to Corona, this traditional festival was celebrated amidst many restrictions. Devotees and Ganesh Mandals cooperate by following all the rules and maintaining coordination with the police system.

He said that 15 persons will be able to join the immersion procession with Shreeji of each mandal. Appropriate permission to use a DJ must be obtained. He said that four large and one small lake would be constructed in the city to facilitate the immersion by Vadodara Municipal Corporation. The lakes will be at Sama bridge, Gorwa, Soma Talav, Navlakhi and the small one in front of Inox.

He made a special appeal that the devotees should immerse in a suitable vessel or container at home. He request people not to take law in their hands and the mandals complete the immersion within the time limit set by police.

He said that the corporation will make necessary arrangements including lighting system around the lakes. Vadodara Municipal Corporation Mayor Keyur Rokadia said that the corporation will deploy a quick response team per zone to facilitate the immersion.

With a plea that no one should take the law into their own hands. He urged the mandals to carry out socio-cultural activities during the day in compliance with the provisions of the guidelines and insisted on completing all the procedures by 11 pm as the curfew is to be enforced from 12 noon. The police, corporation and the district administration will play their role in the context of the notification.

In the meeting held at Circuit House, MLAs Jitendra Sukhadia, Shailesh Mehta, Ketan Inamdar, Akshay Patel, Seema Mohile, Collector R.B. Barad, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Commissioner of Police Dr. Shamsher Singh, District Police Chief Sudhir Desai and other officers were present in the meeting.

Regarding the request of the corporation to supply water of Narmada to Ajwa Sarovar, the Narmada Development Minister said that Vadodara will never run out of water, appropriate decision will be taken as per norms.
