In a first step towards relocating the cattle keepers in Vadodara as part of cattle free campaign, a 1 lakh foot open space at Khatamba is identified by the Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan. On Tuesday Mayor Keyur Rokadia and MP Ranjan Bhatt visited there to review the fencing and levelling work. The corporation can able to shift around 1500 cattles permanently in this new facility.

VMSS team is continuously carried out the work to catch the roaming cattles on city roads as part of their campaign and shifted them to cattle ponds. They are also trying to acquire new open space to shift the animals permanently and help the city become cattle free.

One such space is identified by the corporation near to Khatamba cattle pond to shift the animals and also relocate the cattle keepers. Mayor and MP on Tuesday visited the place and review the fencing and levelling work. They also give important instructions to the officials.

"We are here to review the Khatamba cattle pond and also the levelling and fencing of one lakh foot open space nearby. With this we are able to shift around 1500 cattles permanently soon. Secondly we call the cattle keepers of nearby areas and after the meeting will ask them to shift here and take care of their animals by making sheds on their own and do business. Water, light and fencing facility will be given by the corporation. Our target is to make the nearby areas permanently cattle free in coming days," said Keyur Rokadia.
