As the families of victims in the tragic Air India Flight AI171 crash prepare to take legal action against Boeing, renowned U.S. aviation attorney Mike Andrews has been brought on board to lead the case.
Andrews, known for his work in high-profile aviation lawsuits, visited the crash site in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar on Sunday. The June 12 crash claimed over 70 lives, with victims from Ahmedabad, Surat, and other parts of Gujarat.
So far, more than 70 families have come together to sue Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft involved in the crash. More are expected to join the legal battle in the coming days.
Before arriving in Ahmedabad, Andrews met with families in Surat on August 8 and travelled to Diu on August 9 to meet Vishwas, the sole survivor of the crash.
The families are also demanding a judicial and transparent investigation into the crash, including full access to the aircraft’s black box and cockpit voice recorder data, which they believe are crucial for determining the cause of the disaster.
