Enviornmentalists and citizens of Vadodara are making efforts to clean and revive the Vishwamitri River, which flows in a spiral way through the city. As part of the campaign, on Diwali the Yavateshwar Ghat near Kalaghoda was cleaned and aarti was performed in the presence of Pankaj Kumar Goswami.

The campaign to revive and purify the Vishwamitri river is going on in the city for quite sometime now. Efforts are being made to create awareness among the people about cleaning the river as well as to draw the attention of the system. As part of this, Yavateshwar Ghat was cleaned and aarti was performed on the day of Kalichaudas by the activists of Vaho Vishwamitri Abhiyan. The way the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has started the Ganga cleaning campaign, similarly, efforts are being made to support the Vishwamitra campaign to revive the historical river.

Thousands of diyas lit on the day of Diwali on Thursday attended by people of Vadodara as well as the activists associated with the Waho Vishwamitri Abhiyan. Spiritual leader Pankaj Kumar Goswami was the special guest. On this occasion, people are invited to join the Pigalwada Maha Padayatra from Pavagadh on 16th January 2023 in support of the Vaho Vishwamitri Abhiyan.
