Swiggy food delivery executives in Ahmedabad staged a spontaneous protest on Thursday across key areas including Prahladnagar, Bopal, and Vastrapur, alleging biased ride distribution and unfair pay practices.
According to the riders, while Swiggy drivers were being given fewer and lower-paying deliveries, orders were being allocated to riders from other platforms at better rates.
A video of the protest has gone viral on social media, showing dozens of Swiggy riders gathering at pick-up points, refusing to log in to the app, and demanding immediate redressal from the company.
The agitation disrupted services in the affected areas for several hours.
Riders accused Swiggy of "deliberately sidelining its own fleet" while outsourcing deliveries at higher incentives, leading to widespread frustration among long-time delivery partners. The company is yet to issue an official response.
