However, swift police action led to the arrest of the accused woman and the safe return of the infant to the mother.

The incident unfolded when 23-year-old Sandhya Dheeraj Shukla, a resident of Govardhan Nagar on Pandesara Bamaroli Road, was admitted to the hospital for delivery.

She gave birth in the evening and was later shifted to the second floor for postnatal care.

CCTV footage revealed an unidentified woman monitoring the mother for nearly three hours before carefully carrying the newborn out of the hospital. Based on the footage, police tracked the suspect to Nawagam, where the baby was recovered safely.

The family, overwhelmed with relief, expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt action. The accused woman has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.
