As per preliminary reports, Patel was arrested on charges of extortion after a complaint by a builder accusing the influencer of threatening him with a fake honeytrap case.

Builder Vajubhai Katrodia had filed the complaint against Patel at the Kapodra police station in Surat about a year ago.

The complaint alleged that Patel had demanded a ₹2 crore ransom from the builder, failing which he would be named in a fake honeytrap case.

Patel was absconding after the complaint, and the police were on the lookout for the influencer. On Tuesday, acting on a tip-off, the Surat Police arrested her.
