Surat Police arrest influencer Kirti Patel over demanding ₹2 cr ransom from builder

Influencer Kirti Patel, a controversial internet personality from Gujarat, has once again made headlines after Surat Police arrested her in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

As per preliminary reports, Patel was arrested on charges of extortion after a complaint by a builder accusing the influencer of threatening him with a fake honeytrap case.

Builder Vajubhai Katrodia had filed the complaint against Patel at the Kapodra police station in Surat about a year ago.

The complaint alleged that Patel had demanded a ₹2 crore ransom from the builder, failing which he would be named in a fake honeytrap case.

Patel was absconding after the complaint, and the police were on the lookout for the influencer. On Tuesday, acting on a tip-off, the Surat Police arrested her.
