The National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the students wing of the Congress, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Gujarat University registrar in protest against the decision to hand over further admission procedures to to first-year law courses after conducting registration through the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS).

Allocation of colleges for the first round of admissions has been done, but admissions to grant-in-aid colleges affiliated with GU remain unallocated.
NSUI members stated that students are facing difficulties due to the handover of the remaining procedures to the colleges after completing half the process through GCAS.
They have demanded that in the second round, the allocation of colleges should be done strictly based on the choices and cut-off marks provided by students.
