₹200 cr allocated, but no tablets distributed to students for 2 years in Gujarat, admitted State Govt

The NAMO E-Tablet scheme, offering the tablet at ₹1,000 to students after class 12, was introduced in 2017, the state government had informed in an earlier response.

However, while answering a question about how many students have benefitted from the scheme, tablets of which company have been offered at what price, the state admitted that no tablets have been provided to students in the past two years.

The response was provided by the state’s Higher and Technical Education Department.

However, with the scheme being dormant for the past two years, questions arise if the incentives to the students will remain on paper or if the state is willing to execute them.
