Sports training camp for inmates in Vadodara Central Jail
Unique celebration of Gandhi Jayanti
A unique celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday was held at Vadodara Central Jail in association with Azadi Ka Amrut Parva. With the help of Indian Oil Corporation Limited and as part of prisoner welfare activities, training of various sports was started for the prisoners. Under this, training of chess, carom and volleyball will be given to the prisoners for one month. A sports kit was also provided by IOCL.
Senior Civil Judge and Secretary of Vadodara District Legal Services Authority, V.J. Gadhvi started the training in the presence of senior officials of IOCL along Jail Superintendent Baldevsinh Vaghela, Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayarajsinh Wala and cricketer Pinal Shah.
Apart from this, in collaboration with Vadodara District Legal Services Authority, as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, a legal awareness and guidance camp was organized in the women's jail in which the inmates were informed about their rights. The Superintendent commended all the collaborating organizations for their contribution to the welfare of the inmates.
