An association of grant-in-aid schools has written to the chief minister and the state education minister expressing concern over poor attendance in Classes 10, 11 and 12 due to private tuition classes operating during school timings.
The letter asks the ministers to take steps to ensure that private tutors conduct their classes only after school hours, as students skip school to attend these classes.
It further states that a solution to problem will also address the issue of dummy students.
