Salangpur's Kashtbhanjan Dev Adorned in the Colors of Patriotism; Devotees Emotional as Lord Hanuman is Dressed in Tricolor Attire

Today, on August 15, in honor of Sheetala Satam and India’s 79th Independence Day, a special tricolor-themed decoration was done at the famous Shri Kashtbhanjan Dev Hanumanji Temple in Salangpur, a renowned pilgrimage site. Lord Hanuman, lovingly referred to as Dada by devotees, was adorned in attire inspired by the Indian national flag. The early morning decoration and aarti were performed by the temple priest Swami at 5:45 AM. Many devotees visited in person to witness this divine sight, while others participated through online darshan, feeling spiritually fulfilled.

Speaking about the special decoration, the temple priest said, “On the sacred occasion of Sheetala Satam during the holy month of Shravan and to celebrate Independence Day, Shri Kashtbhanjan Dev Hanumanji was adorned in a tricolor theme made using over 250 kg of white roses, marigold flowers, and Ashoka leaves.

In addition, Lord Hanuman was dressed in a specially designed tricolor outfit. This outfit was crafted in Rajkot by a devotee who spent an entire week making it. The entire decoration process took over 4 hours and was carried out by saints and devotees. Flags and tricolor decorations were also displayed throughout the temple premises.”

During the holy month of Shravan, Salangpur Dham hosts numerous devotional events and rituals at the temple. These include divine decorations, Saturday food offerings (Annakut), as well as unique food arrangements like Chhappan Bhog Annakut, Chocolate Annakut, and Dry Fruit Mithai Annakut. Daily spiritual activities such as musical Sundarkand recitations, Maruti Yagna, Shodashopchar Puja, grand evening aartis, and royal ceremonial worship are also conducted.

Celebrations also include Shri Krishna Janmotsav, special Shiva-themed decorations every Monday, and Hindola Darshan at the Shri Hari Mandir. Additionally, from 7 AM to 6 PM, sacred recitations of Hanuman Chalisa are performed daily by Brahmin priests as part of ongoing devotional observances.
