During the Corona period, people of Vadodara took various initiatives to help the health and front line workers in their fight against the deadly Coronavirus create havoc all across the world. One such person Sabita Manek also came forward a help the administration by distributing masks and prepare uniforms for doctors and security guards and washable PPE kits.
Under the Gujarat Government's Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Program, Sabita Manek has received a loan of Rs 25 lakh and a subsidy of Rs 25 lakh through the District Industries Center, Vadodara.
She has made a lot of progress in her work since getting this loan. With the help of the government, she started a manufacturing unit which currently has 8 employees. During the deadly second wave of Corona, Sabita Manek and her team designed 1,500-1,700 security guard uniforms and 3,000 uniforms for doctors. They also prepare 500-700 washable PPE kits. With the help of the government, Sabita Manek and her team made more than 3 lakh masks during the difficult times of Corona and gave them to health workers and front line workers.
Through the financial assistance received by Sabita Manek through the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program, she has currently provided employment opportunities to 8 people and also starts a readymade clothes shop.
