Resident doctors of SSG hospital Vadodara went on indefinite strike in view of their demands

More than 500 resident doctors of Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara went on indefinite strike from Thursday with the demand for batch bond period, salary as per 7th pay commission and implementation of SR bond scheme in the state like other states. Resident doctors staged demonstrations outside the superintendent's office in view of their demands. Resident doctors will only be on duty at the emergency services.

The protesting said said to keep the bond period of the batch at 1: 2, pay according to the Seventh Pay commission according to other medical officials, be appointed to their educational institution as first year PG medical students were not there and their academic year was wasted due to Corona, SR bond scheme like other states should be implemented in Gujarat as well.

The government did not comply with the order for bonded resident doctors doing Covid duty and issued a new order assigning doctors to duty in remote villages. They demand senior resident doctors to be counted in the bond and paid according to the Seventh Pay Commission. They threaten to intensify their agitation of their demands were not met.
