Raosaheb Patil Danve - Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines, Government of India chaired the review meeting of important ongoing rail projects at Western Railway's HQ office, Churchgate, Mumbai on Wednesday, 8th September, 2021. He reviewed the progress of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFCCIL) & Mumbai – Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project (NHSRCL) for the portion falling in Maharashtra.

Alok Kansal, General Manager of Western Railway, Hari Mohan Gupta – Director (Infra) of DFCCIL, Rajendra Prasad – Director (Projects) of NHSRL alongwith Divisional Commissioner Konkan and District Collectors as well as other senior officials of WR, DFCCIL, NHSRL & State Govt. officials were present during the meeting.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, MOSR Raosaheb Patil Danve presided over the meeting to discuss the matters pertaining to these two important infrastructural projects. He reviewed the status of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor being undertaken by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL) as well as the Mumbai - Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project undertaken by National High Speed Rail Corridor Ltd. (NHSRCL).

Danve was apprised of the various stages of progress of these vital projects, including the land acquisition process, rehabilitation of Project Affected People (PAPs). MOSR directed the concerned officials including State Government officials to expedite the work for completion of projects within the stipulated target period to avoid cost and time over runs. He emphasized on the importance of these 2 projects. All the officers including that of State Govt. felt motivated to deliver the projects on fast-track basis.

Earlier, on reaching WR Headquarters building at Churchgate, MOSR was welcomed by WR GM Alok Kansal. GM also apprised MOSR (D) about various aspects of recent restoration of heritage building of WR HQs at Churchgate.
