Rain emergency in Jamnagar, skies pounded 108 mm of rainfall over the city
This is the third extremely heavy spell of rainfall in Jamnagar
Jamnagar woke up to yet another furious bout of rainfall which left the city's woes overflowing with residents, who had barely recovered from the June 30 spell, finding themselves in knee-deep water on Saturday.
Skies pounded 108 mm of rainfall on the city in just four hours from 6am to 10am.
Familiar scenes of heavily waterlogged roads, inundated residential societies and homes, and civic authorities battling to pump out water were witnessed across the city.
Schools declared a holiday as continuous downpour and waterlogging made it impossible for students and teachers to reach.
Several low-lying areas were under knee-deep waters and people were seen wrestling with turbulent waters that gushed into their homes.
The Circuit House was also heavily waterlogged so were homes in low-lying areas like Gulabnagar, Haridwar Park, Mohan Nagar, Narayan Nagar and others.
Officegoers had a horrendous time with hundreds of commuters scratching their heads in search of alternate routes to reach their destinations due to flooded roads.
This is the third extremely heavy spell of rainfall in Jamnagar which was earlier battered when Cyclone Biporjoy had torn into Kutch on June 15.
Meanwhile, coastal districts of Saurashtra also continued to reel under wet weather with significant rainfall being reported in Devbhumi Dwarka, Gir-Somnath, Junagadh, Porbandar and Kutch districts
