Prerna Pravas for 200 water committees of Vadodara district organized by "Wasmo" for water awareness under Jal Jeevan Mission

The program "Jal Jeevan Mission - Nal Se Jal" has been implemented in the rural areas of the state of Gujarat for the management of drinking water in a managed manner. This program is carried out by the water and sanitation management organisation (WASMO) in Gujarat. The main objective is to provide regular, adequate and clean water to every household in the rural areas of the state with 100% tap water.

To make the Water Committee / Gram Panchayat aware about water and water quality, the group implemented surface water source / dam based group water supply scheme implemented in different districts by visiting the source-dam, pumping station, water purification plant and distribution system. An "Prerna Pravas" has been organized for 200 water committees of Vadodara district to make them the understanding of use.

To make Water Committees become more aware of the schemes related to drinking water, the infrastructure facilities prepared by the Government under these schemes have been set up. A one-day inspirational tour was organized by Vasmo, Vadodara for the water committees of 200 villages of Vadodara district for the purpose of understanding and raising awareness. They came to know about the working of group water supply scheme, distance water is brought by pumping water from source-dam, water purification process done before giving drinking water to the village, after which they sees and understands the operation of how this prescious water will be distributed to the village.

So far more than 800 water committee members/villagers from 63 villages, visited Panchmahal around Vadodara, Narmada, Kheda, dams in Mahisagar district, PM-3 group scheme Halol, Jitnagar group scheme, Narmada, Phagwel group scheme, Kheda, Kadana group scheme and Mahisagar headworks. They were given detailed information about all the operations from pumping water from the dam to reaching the village sump. were given detailed information. Importantly, the implementation of drinking water scheme at the village level is being expedited by Wasmo through Jal Jeevan Mission-Nal Se Jal program across the state. In order to get quality water, the government has also planned to filter the surface water through group water supply scheme and get it in the village sump. The Gram Panchayat / Water Committee provides water facility to every house in the village through tap connection and maintains it. This Prerna Pravas of the district water committee and the villagers will make the members of the village water committee aware and more efficient, water purification and water distribution systems in the villages will be more robust and the villages will be made more watery.
