Policeman son recieved sports promotion scholarship of Rs. 4 lakh from the state's Central Police Welfare Fund
Won medals in high jump at national competitions
Kaushik Jadhav, who has been excelling in the sport of high jump since 2016, has been given a sports incentive of Rs 4 lakh from the state's Central Police Welfare Fund for the purpose of acquiring skills in this sport and for future international level competitions. Vadodara District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Desai gave necessary guidance to this sportsperson of the police family to get this scholarship.
Kaushik received the cheque for the Central Police Welfare Fund based sports incentive scholarship from the state police chief Ashish Bhatia, at the state police chief's office in Gandhinagar in presence of IGP administration Brijesh Kumar Jani. Kaushik's father Rajendra Jadhav was with him on this occasion.
It is to be mentioned that high jumper Kaushik has participated in 6 national competitions from 2016 to 2019 and has won gold, silver and bronze medals for the state and Vadodara. Although sports activities were stopped during Corona but Kaushik stayed at home and practiced as much as possible. Now that the situation has eased, he is back on the field.
Kaushik's father Rajendra Barikarao Jadhav, who works as a commando with senior police officers in the district police force, said, "We are grateful to District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Desai for giving necessary guidance and encouragement to Kaushik to get this scholarship." Financial assistance under this scholarship will be very helpful for Kaushik in preparation for international competitions.
It may be recalled that Kaushik was selected for the high jump sport under the state government's sports incentive scheme when he was studying in 10th standard. He is being given proper training at the Sports Academy of Gujarat's Khel Academy at Nadiad.
Under the Central Police Welfare Fund, children with sports talents are encouraged as per their appearance by the district police chief at the local level and at the level of state police chief for the scholarships. With this honor Kaushik has inspired teenagers of his age to become athletes.
