For years engineering has been regarded as a male dominated career and women are vastly underrepresented in the industry. Parul University throughout its academics has been firm in providing equal opportunities and platforms to encourage young girls to engage and excel in the field of engineering.

The 'Women in Engineering' scholarship program by Sikshana Foundation aims to further promote this very gender disparity in the field of engineering by supporting female students from rural areas with scholarships and resources to excel in their careers.

Recently, 10 talented girls from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Parul University were recognized by the Sikshana foundation to avail benefits of the Women in Engineering scholarship program. These bright young girls received laptops and remarkable scholarships worth Rs. 9,750 sponsored by ABB-Hitachi. These scholarships were granted to encourage girls to take up technical subjects and give their skills the right push.

The felicitation ceremony for these girls saw the presence of senior authorities Dr. H. S. Vijaykumar, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Parul University, Tarun Garg, Head - Design and Engineering – Transformers, Hiral Rajput, HUB Human Resources Manager - South Asia, Nitesh Patel, Head of Administration and CSR-Vadodara from ABB – Hitachi and Usha Srivastava, Associate Director, Sikshana Foundation and other senior officials of Parul University.

The University has also been taking active steps and measures to provide young girls with a platform not only to pursue their engineering studies but also to enhance their innovative skill sets abilities, and turn their ideas into realities.
