Ahmedabad is witnessing a significant surge in illnesses, with Sola Civil Hospital reporting a 10% rise in OPD (Outpatient Department) visits over the past week.

On average, the hospital is now treating around 1,736 patients daily.

According to data, a total of 12,153 patients were recorded in the OPD at Sola Civil Hospital between May 19 and 25.

In comparison, 9,321 patients visited between May 5 and 11, and 11,150 patients between May 12 and 18. Additionally, 1,107 patients were admitted during the most recent week.

The number of patients requiring hospitalisation was 924 between May 5 and 11, and 1,021 between May 12 and 18. Between May 19 and 25, there were 90 suspected dengue cases, out of which two tested positive.

Out of 331 suspected malaria cases, two tested positive. Moreover, there were 25 cases of diarrhea, 27 of bacterial dysentery, three of viral hepatitis A, and four of typhoid.
